What To Do During Turbulent Time ? :p

1. No trading from me today. Not going in at all but i believe market will still hold well after this, don't think our "taiko" will let this fall just like that as election is just around the corner. Gaining confident and winnings more voters heart is utmost priority by our Jib Gor. Any black spot toward this juncture will likely to upset the result but nevertheless i think it is still going to be an uphill task from opposition. Should not worry too much on this turbulent time as i think it is only a temporary set back. Keep dancing and keep racing. Good Luck.

2. HEKTAR - The management is playing dirty here, they bring forward the 3rd Q dividend to current, making all HEKTAR-TR holders not eligible/entitle on this dividend even converting them all to mother shares. :( Another crook.

3. IGB REIT - Unsuccessful on this. :(

4. CMMT & SUNREIT - See how these two run today ! ^^ I expect IGB REIT will follow suite, probably HEKTAR as well if giving some time. Let's monitor IGB REIT listing, should be interesting. I just received my SUNREIT dividend. ^^

5. OSKPROP - Called up my investment bank, they told me i will be getting my refund next Monday. :(

6. Watch List - WCT, GLOMAC, OSKPROP, PJDEV, FABER, BREM, GTRONIC & UOADEV

7. hng, Teng, alwayswin, gark & the rest, am i eligible to apply excess shares if i am only holding HEKTAR-TR ?? Asked the Investment Bank today, they told me i only have the option to subscribe the right. :( Is this the only option ? i thought i will be able to apply excess as well ??

8. Good Luck !!!

I don't think your investment give you right advice( I may be wrong). When I applied for Amfirst excess,Maybank Investment did not ask or check if I bought TR from open market or from entitlement from my holding in Amfirst

  2. Hi Horse,

Have been following your blog lately, which give me lots of inspiration. I too, like Teng, using Maybank Investment. I'd bought some other Rights before from open market (without having the mother share) and allowed to apply for the excess.

  3. Thanks Teng & Chong,

    For the clarification.
I will shoot them if they told me i can't apply excess.

Anyhow will proceed to apply more Hektar.

Take advantage to buy in more if happen tomorrow another bad day. ^^
BUT i think it gonna rebound as tonight DJ in green. ^^

    Good Luck !!!

Affin-CG settlement is 14.84 cts, which is higher than my calculation of 14.6cts.So I only lost 0.016 cts which is minimal. Don't know how they calculate. I did see sometimes Bursa gave different VWAMP next day

  8. tq Gark..

ok..it is too late go this friday because 14/10/12 is the expired date?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Expired on October should be OK, best you do it immediately, usually renew expiry before 1 month.

Get all the documents ready otherwise you will need to go again another day. For complete list go to KBRIKL website.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Here are the document list.

    http://www.kbrikualalumpur.org/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=57

If you wait until the passport expire, then you need to do a new passport which is a big hassle.

  13. Used up all trading limit, bought all UEMland at 1.63

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hng

Queue small qty UEMland at 1.63. Surprised UEMLand trade at near 52 week low( 1.54 is 52 week low)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Teng

UEMland already at 1.65, Have you got your share at 1.63?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Teng

Although GLC like UEMland have political risk, but it have very prime land in Nusajaya and upcoming weekend is official launched of its flagship project, Legoland, interest should center on it.

With much improved infrastructure like coastal highway, second link, East dispersal link + Singapore factors, UEMland huge landbank is real gem await to be unlock.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hng

GLCs or companies owned (directly or indirectly) government will be less hit compare to companies privately owned but won contract because of political link. This is my opinion. So companies like TNB,TM,CIMB,Maybank and UEMland should be safe if current government lose in next GE( of course,if this happen, almost all stocks will be badly hit when opening)

  20. Reserved some fund for IGB REIT for first day listing. Below 1.30 should be a good buy.

  27. Affin-CG-Small loss. I normally buy less than RM10k for CWs esp DRB-Hicom saga where DRB-Hicom down >20cts last minute

    ReplyDelete
  28. Affin-CF-Have not received settlement yet.Are you using nominee account?I always received two weeks after expiry

My friend using HLIB,and at 1 time,he waited >1 month for settlement.HLIB paid him interest of 8% for his 'loss' after he threaten to complain to BNM

    ReplyDelete
  29. Uh,,,, can pay interest one ar ?

HLIB very good huh... ha ha ha

Yes, i am using nominee as well.

    ReplyDelete

Why you receive your settlement earlier than me?

HLIB made the mistake, and my friend can use my settlement date as reference.

Today, newspaper highlight Airasia may face stiff competition from newcomer in budget airline. Profit margin could under pressure....

    ReplyDelete
  32. Alwayswins111

I never have confidence in airlines industry ( with exception SIA). I travelled quite a lot few years ago,and even with low fare,I hardly see any flight that is 90% full.

But Airasia is making money every year.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Teng
It has a support at 2.87 foll by 2.67. Just now Ihad wanted to do a quick trade around at 2.90 but chicken out. Still have to learn a lot from you all.

Your UEMLAND is doing well... Amazing pick

    ReplyDelete
  35. Alwaywins111

Are you full time investor like Hng?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Alwayswin111

I'm hoping upcoming opening Legoland could offer catalyst to UEM land share performance

    ReplyDelete
  37. Airasia should not have anything to worry about Malindo air. Malindo air is co-owned by Lion Air which is Indonesia biggest budget airline.

Airasia is already competing with Lion Air in Indonesia, and have taken some choice routes from them (mostly international). I guess Airasia disturb them, so in return they disturb Airasia in Malaysia.

Lion air aborted a USD1 bil IPO recently due to strained financials...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lion air Do have cheaper fares than Air Asia, but their service/safety records are appalling. Lion air aircraft has been banned to land in Australia and Europe.

However if Lion air is desperate, this could result in margin squeeze temporary from Malaysian operation.

Airasia tried to buy Batavia air in Indonesia, but was blocked by government on trying to create monopoly, partly because of strong complaints by Lion Air.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The reason Airasia tried to buy Batavia air is for the local airport landing/parking rights and not for the operations & planes.

Due to Airasia being given less parking space, hence the HQ is moving to Jakarta to lobby the govt. Lion air has strong links to the Indonesia govt.

BTW, not vested, just interested. :)

Wow,UEMLand is 170.Stil holding to it?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Teng

    Lets UEMland continue Upppppppppppp

    ReplyDelete
  42. Teng

Legoland is major catalyst to spur boom to surrounding properties value. UEMland if just do nothing, just sell its landbank already can reap huge profit

As retail investor, we have limited capital, even we spot on several opportunity stocks, we only can concentrate on 1 or 2 stocks and miss the others

    ReplyDelete
  46. Teng
You all are sifu.. Me hardly... totally not good at fundamentals... depend on analysts reports ... and of course from this blog which is of utmost importance. Trading based on chart reading and news.

I am waiting for Airasia at 2.67 level to try if there is support

    ReplyDelete
  48. Alwayswin111

Airasia-Besides airtickets, are there other revenue sources?Their in flight magazines is full of advertisement( this is all $$),seats are sometimes has advertiesement as well. Still their expenses are very high( pilots, parking, counters rental at airport). One airplane cost USD80millions for A320?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Teng
I was watching the play. This morning gap down , when moved to minor support at 2.88, bounced up...went up to 2.97... Then went all the way down , touched a lower minor support of 2.82 and rebound again.
But I dared not play even though I noted down minor supports playable .
Prefer to wait for the selling to ease.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Alawayswin111

No,I am not advising not to buy or buy Airasia.Just I ( or any common people) do not know revenue and expenses of airlines. When I sit in an aircraft,I always count # passenger x ticket price ( I use fare I pay). I always concluded airlines is not so profitable business.Of course later I know airlines make most money from business/first class. Also,in flight sales of duty free ( also non dutiable item) contribute to revenue.Cargo may also good income.

For airasia, sales of food/drinks is good income?

10 yrs ago I totally against buying airlines share. Now at least I willing to take a look

    ReplyDelete
  51. Teng
Well maybe we just watch first. I am not good at day trading but for now the selling seem to have eased.

Pls do not take my posting as advice to buy or not to buy.I just offer my advice

I remember reading one article that only few airlines in the world is making profit,ie SIA,Cathay and Virgin Atlantic

    ReplyDelete
  55. Teng
No worries. I am just grateful for the advice and information. We are all matured enough to make the final decision ourselves. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bought small quantity OSKProperty at 95cents. Ex Div Spet 21

    ReplyDelete
  57. Alwayswin111

I actually like SIA for 2 reasons. Its high load factor and high fare. Also SIA has good connecttivity to many cities

Few years ago,I used to travel to USA every year.Always hard to get a seat from SIA .

    ReplyDelete
  58. Teng

OSK property really perform poorly, even with 5 dividend, share just stuck. Lets hope by next week, nearer to ex-date, stock at least could reflect these 5 dividend

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hng

Worse scenario have to wait for OSKProp next release of financial result. If it can repeat last year of 5 cents EPS( RI and BI adjusted),share price should shoot up

    ReplyDelete
  60. Teng

Sometime, very frustrated, market seem ignore OSK property now. Perhaps, company itself have to do more PR, attract more analyst coverage...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Too bad, miss opportunity on Gtronic to reap higher profit

  64. Received sms from OSKProp for Mirage by the lake promotion. I thought all units sold out?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi all,

My take on OSK prop is market could think they are generally a smaller /niche market player as opposed to bigger names like SP,Sime Darby which always launch their campaigns in a big advertising style. Hence for retailers that "chase price" might not too excited over their prospect.

I've been following your sharing here on OSK prior to the rights/excess..(but i still don't quite understand yet how it goes! hahaha). Can I can buy OSK Prop now just like buying any other counters without subscribing to any excess, etc?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bubble tea

OskProp right issue+warrant exercise already completed. You can now buy OSKProp at lower price than before rights. PLEASE BUY more to push up its share.... JOKING only.Buy at own risk
