  1. Puncak Niaga: Bids for Kepong incinerator job.

    Puncak Niaga Holdings is understood to have entered the fray to bid for the controversial waste-to-energy incinerator in Taman Beringin in Kepong, Selangor, said to cost MYR800m. Sources say Puncak Niaga had submitted a bid to undertake the proposed incinerator project in an international tender opened a few days ago and is expected to close in three months. The winner for the Kepong project could possibly stand to sign a 30-year concession with the government.

Once Puncak complete water divestment, it is highly possible utilize part of the RM 1.55 bilion cash proceed to secure these yet highly controversial Build-operate-transfer (BOT) waste to energy incinerator cost RM 800m, much better than venture into old/passive/long gestation plantation business. These BOT job will like come with 30 year concession under renewal energy agreement with TNB, replacing both syabas/PNSB water concession, ensuring continuous steady earning for next 30 year. In short, if success, Puncak will have 3 business division:

    1. Oil and gas
    2. Water/sewerage related construction work
    3. Waste to energy incinerator under 30 year concession
