KSL Q2 earning report slight lower than corresponding year, mainly due to start up cost loss of its newly open KSL RESORT Hotel, which is normal business nature as it involve a lot of capex for staff/security/promotion etc
Going forward, KSL Hotel division should be able to generate steady stream of income to KSL on top of its current investment properties portfolio which could together contribute half of the future earning KSL
Overall KSL first half EPS increase by 20% to 13sen, which if annualized EPS 26sen, PE at 5.5x, still worth of investing.
Ivory results maybe will be bad, so many people sell???

Ivory stock is hold a the moment, pending release Q2 result which should be better than Q1 as it will recognized negative goodwill of of RM 30m from acquisition of one of the subsidiary to wholly own. Investor should hold bit longer for its upcoming launching Penang World project.

黄金十年:珍珠和世界

今年,两家槟城产业公司———玮力产业集团(IVORY,5175,主板产业股)和恒大置地(TAMBUN,5191,主板产业股),不约而同的进行了附加股计划。
玮力产业主要是放眼槟州世界城(Penang World City)的10亿令吉发展计划,所以建议1配1附加股(售价55仙),附送1凭单和0.25红股,募资约1亿令吉。
股息南辕北辙
而恒大置地则建议5配2附加股(售价50仙)送1凭单,募资4420万令吉,充当旗下珍珠城(Pearl City)等发展资金。两者的附加股数月计划都已完成。
如今事隔数月,回来观察两者表现,似乎珍珠闪闪发亮,比世界更容易掳获人心。
我们从表一来看看。
不但如此,恒大置地的凭单行使价才60仙,己经到价;玮力产业的凭单行使价75仙,离到价还远著呢。
在股息政策方面,两家公司也是南辕北辙,恒大置地计划将40-60%的净利充作股息,眼前就有3.8仙的净股息要除权,约6%周息率。
而玮力产业资金都用来大力发展旗下计划,看来是没考虑股息派发,这让期望有股息的投资者却步。
我们的组合“不小心”选了玮力产业,看来要在短期追上恒大置地的表现,并非易事。
恒大置地的半年业绩率先出炉,约2000万的净利更胜去年1100万,股息甚让人期待,看来它将崛起为新一代产业实力股。
而玮力产业是否另劈途径,酌量成为产业界的高成长代表,胥视未来几季的成绩。
其即将公布的第二季度报告,预料会先带来佳音。
事缘玮力产业附加股的建议,还包括了一项收购子公司的计划。随着这项收购完成,公司将会有一次过的特别盈利约3000万令吉(约每股7仙),源自负商誉(negative goodwill),在本季度进账,正式掀开其高盈利的序幕。
除此之外,玮力产业将其丹绒马林的地皮以3800万令吉脱售,获利千万,以集中火力于槟州世界城,也将会公司进一步带来盈利和现金流。
槟州世界城还未推出市场,不过,我们从玮力产业的部署,以及其凭单的高溢价,大致上可以知道公司未来发展的路线图。所以,上周我们决定买入18000张玮力产业凭单(21.5仙),凑足5万张

Below is HL Investment bank report on KSL
2Q net profit declined 14.4% yoy to RM25.0m, while 1H FY12 net profit rose 19.8% yoy to RM50.3m, making up 36.8% and 47.0% of HLIB and consensus forecasts.
No dividends were declared for 2Q.
The deviations were mainly due to timing differences and losses from KSL Resort, causing gross profit to be relatively flat qoq.
We maintain our earnings forecast and price target of RM2.16 (based on 30% discount to RNAV), pending clarity with management. Maintain BUY.
